| Indications & Usage |
Quinine should be given by IV infusion over 4 hours in a loading dose of 30mg/kg of body weight followed by maintenance dose of 10mg/kg weight in 500ml -Dextrose 5% over 4 hours --- every 8 hours – Duration of therapy should be restricted until patient is able to swallow oral dosage form of quinine or as determined by physician.
